But you shall open your hand freely to him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.
The people we are after will not walk into a sanctuary. They will walk into coffee.
The House
Not a Sunday production. A storefront that opens its hands every morning. Music, Word, a few chairs, and whoever walked in off the street. We meet because the house is supposed to be open — not because a calendar said so.
Come as you are. Stay for coffee. Leave when you need to. No one is taking attendance.
The Thrift
A working thrift. Clothes, furniture, household things that still have a life in them. Priced so a neighbor can walk out with what they need. Funded so the house can stay open at 8.
If you have something to give, we will sort it. If you need something, we will help you find it. That is the whole store.
The morning
Same hour. Same chairs. No stage fog. If you have been in a hospital waiting room, you already know the tone.
The chairs
People who will sit for coffee and a verse when a sanctuary feels like a locked door. We do not fix anyone in forty-five minutes. We keep the chair empty until they take it.
Folks who have prayed longer than we have been alive. They know the hymns. They know how to sit with someone who is shaking.
Grief, divorce, a diagnosis, a night that went wrong. No testimony required at the door. Come if you can stay for the song.
Men coming out who need a morning that is not a program. Work if there is work. A verse if they will hear it. Dignity either way.
How it turns
Junk and eBay keep inventory moving. The thrift meets the street. The house stays open at eight. Each piece feeds the next. None of them is the whole story.

This is not a new idea looking for a first morning. In Roseburg, Oregon, Faith Foundry kept daily 8 a.m. worship for years — same hour, same Word, whoever came. Hands Wide Open carries that practice into a North Dallas storefront: thrift in the front, house in the back of the day.
We are not importing a conference. We are keeping a clock.
